Payment Processing by PayPal

To maximise transaction security and customer protection from fraud, we have chosen PayPal's highly secure processing gateway to accept payments made using a credit card, debit card (with no PIN code) or with a PayPal account during the checkout process.

If any problems occur during the stage of the payment process when you are entering your details on PayPal's secure servers you will be redirected to Step 1 of our checkout process to try again, usually without any warnings (Paypal's re-direction action). You can be certain that your order has not been completed, nor any funds deducted from your card or PayPal account.

Note: Your order has NOT successfully completed when:
- you have not seen your new order number displayed on-screen after Step 4
- you have not received a new order confirmation email from Organic Buyers Group
- there is no new order displayed in your Order History.


The following are the most common reasons why the payment process was not successful via the PayPal processing gateway:

1. Inadequate funds in the credit card, debit card or PayPal account

Please confirm that sufficient funds are available in the selected account to cover the total value of your order. Please also check that this payment does not exceed your credit card's pre-set spending limit.

2. Card Issuer (the financial institiution where your credit or debit card account is held)

Please confirm with the financial institution that issued your credit or debit card that your selected account and linked accounts are not currently restricted (e.g. 'frozen' or under investigation) in any way prior to reattempting the checkout process.

3. Spend Limits for 'Guest Checkouts' - manually entering the details of a credit card or debit card that is not linked to a Paypal account

The PayPal processing gateway recently began imposing a customer spending limit per credit card or debit card of USD$1,000 where that card is not linked to a Paypal account. Their rationale is that the use of a PayPal account is more secure than repeatedly entering your credit card or debit card details each time you shop online. There are additional verification and security measures to protect the customer in creating and using a Paypal account over manually entering card details into a website.

4. Debit cards with a PIN code

Unfortunately the PayPal processing gateway cannot accept debit cards with a numeric password (or PIN code) which requires a keypad for entry.

5. Procurement and Private Label Cards

Unfortunately the PayPal processing gateway cannot accept procurement and private label credit cards such as a department store credit card.

6. Paypal Server upgrades

Paypal regularly updates and upgrades its gateway which may cause temporary Paypal internal errors with some customer transactions during these times.
