Carwari Organic Black Sesame Flour is a very unique product. It is a dark fine powder made from husks and part of the internal seeds of the organic extra virgin black sesame seed.
 
Due to reduced oil content, sesame flour has lower fat and calories as well as high in calcium, protein and iron.
 
This product is best for (but not limited to) bread making, muffins, smoothie, Asian cooking.
 
A fine powder made from grinding a blend of organic unhulled sesame seed skins (husks) and parts of the internal seed - where the majority of nutrients are contained.

Sesame flour is easier to use when it consists of a lower oil content. Hence why only the husk and part of the internal seed is ground to produce the flour.
 
If the whole seed was ground, the final flour would be too oily and not ideal for baking. Mexican sesame seeds have 50-57% oil content.

Sesames are an excellent source of Tryptophane and Methionine - controls cholesterol, healthy liver and nervous system.
 
Sesame contains two important amino acids.
1. Methionine is crucial for the maintenance of a healthy liver and can produce Coline which helps the body to handle cholesterol and produce energy rather than fat.

2. The other amino acid, Tryptophane is the precursor of niacin which is essential for a healthy nervous system. It is also reported to promote youthful skin and healthy hair.

Sesame oil is also stable because it contains the antioxidant sesamol which helps to prevent it going rancid and so it can handle high temperatures e.g. in a wok.

It has a balanced composition of Oleic Monounsaturated and Linoleic Polyunsaturated fatty acids which also help stabilise Sesame Oil - far more than other vegetable oils.
