Low fat less than 3% fat - Coconut Milk from young coconuts - there's a difference vs older coconuts!
Usually some coconut milks contain more fat than we would like – when it’s made from old, brown coconuts, that is.
From now you can cook with coconut milk as often as you like. Because you’ve discovered Dr Matin's coco milk.
Dr. Antonio Martins takes fresh, clear coconut juice and the finely puréed pulp of young coconuts.
The coconuts are organically grown on selected plantations. Only these coconuts give you a superb, complete coconut experience with significantly lower levels of fat. Original Dr. Antonio Martins’ coco milk for cooking is fabulously creamy, entirely cholesterol-free – and tastes fantastic.
Dr Antonio Martins coco milk for cooking is exactly what you think it is - a thick, creamy, dairy free coconut milk and less than 3% fat especially for cooking.
The coconut milk inside this carton is made from young, green, organic coconuts - not dried-up brown ones. These green coconuts are also called 'jelly' coconuts. When you crack one open, you find two nutritious things inside: coconut juice (a clear, low-fat liquid also known as coconut water) and coconut jelly (a succulent, milk gel).
This coconut milk is made from a delicious blend of the two: juice and jelly. So remember: cook better with coco milk from juicy, green coconuts - not hairy, old brown ones.

Coconut Juice - Fluid of Life:
Coconuts - young and green, are a fruit (not a nut) and known to be hypo-allergenic. There are no known intolerances or allergies.
Coconut juice is isotonic. It has the same mineral nutrient balance as blood or the liquid in the cells of our bodies.
Coco Juice is the fruit juice with the fewest calories of 19kcal/100 ml. Orange juice has about 43kcal/100ml.
Not counting water, coconut juice is the only liquid made available by nature ready to drink. Make a small hole in the nut and the coconut juice runs out. If you think about fruit juice, it is bound to the fruit cells and first requires an elaborate extraction process.
Our coconuts are cultivated ecologically. These characteristics result in a great many fascinating product benefits.
What is Coconut Juice/Water?
If you think coconut juice is milky and white, you would in fact be wrong. Coconut juice is actually a refreshingly clear liquid (also known as coconut water) found inside all young, green coconuts.
Dr. Antonio Martins Coco Juice is extra-special in that it’s been tapped from fresh, organic coconuts according to a patented process that ensures it has never come into contact with light or air. In other words, we’ve fooled the juice into thinking it’s still inside the coconut.
Despite sounding sneaky, this is in fact a good thing because you get to drink the juice as Nature intended – virgin, pure and organic, with no preservatives of any kind. It is the same as drinking from a freshly cracked coconut on a tropical palm-fringed beach – but a lot easier and without the sunburn.
How is this processed without heat?
Dr. Antonio Martins products are manufactured using a unique process.
This process has been developed, patented and further developed by us over the course of years. Within the context of organic specifications, it enables unique product quality in comparison with competitors.
Our endeavour is to deliver coconut juice to you that comes as close as possible to the taste of coconut juice fresh from the nut.
The use of state-of-the-art technologies helps to protect and, to a great extent, preserve the valuable contents. This is why cold-aseptic filling processes are used for our coconut juice, which also goes through a special microfiltration process in Mexico.
We have optimised the process to the extent that minimal processing is possible. We do not use any standard high-temperature pasteurisation systems for our Elopaks and PET bottles, nor do we use hot filling, additives or preservatives.
Why is Dr Martins more expensive than other Coconut Water?
Coconut juice cannot be compared with domestic juices and orange juice. There are various factors that influence the price. Coconut juice is not available on the world market like, for instance, orange juice. We first had to realise our own supply through intensive development work in the production countries, involving high costs.
The coconut juice used is pure juice, meaning that in order to maintain a high quality concentrates are not used and cannot yet be produced at any rate. Higher costs in the transport of the juice go hand-in-hand with filling in Germany. We‘re talking about exotic fruit juice with transport costs to match and not about domestic apple juice.
The coconut jelly pulp is taken exclusively from young, green coconuts. This is what provides the crucial benefits (e.g. low fat content).
But young coconuts do not yield anywhere near as much jelly pulp as older nuts – max. 10%.
The organic quality characteristic also contributes to higher costs in planting and in processing. But we are of the opinion that it‘s worth every cent.
And please don‘t forget: Dr. Antonio Martins stands for socially fair working conditions and salaries, in particular in the production countries.
Were any rainforests cleared for the areas in which these coconut palms are grown?
We are currently working on a "Rain Forest Alliance Certification" in order to have confirmed by an independent office that no rain forests were cleared for Dr. Antonio Martins coconuts. You will find more information on the institution and the certification at www.rainforestalliance.org.
