Health Benefits
Almonds are a good source of vitamin E, phosphorus and magnesium. Almonds naturally contain no Cholesterol, however are able to regulate cholesterol in our bodies by reducing LDL ('bad') cholesterol and increasing HDL ('good') cholesterol. The Ayurvedic system of medicine considers almonds to be both brain and nervous system supporting. Almonds have also been proven by various medical journals to have anti-inflammatory, immune boosting and liver supporting properties.

Brazil Nuts:
Organic Raw Activated Brazil Nuts offers a good source of Omega 6, magnesium and is one of the highest dietary sources of selenium available.

Selenium is a rare mineral, which is incorporated into proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes. The antioxidant properties of selenoproteins help prevent cellular damage from free radicals. Other selenoproteins help regulate thyroid function and play a role in the immune system.

Cashews have a lower fat content than other nuts and approximately 75% of their fat is unsaturated fatty acids, with about 75% of this unsaturated fatty acid being oleic acid - the same heart-healthy monounsaturated fat found in olive oil. Studies show that oleic acid promotes good cardiovascular health. Studies of diabetic patients show that monounsaturated fat, when added to a low-fat diet, can help to reduce high triglyceride levels.

Almost half of the Coconut’s fatty acid profile consists of lauric acid. Apart from being associated with anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, studies have found lauric acid increases good cholesterol in the body.
Chia Seeds:
Chia seeds contain 13% fat, of which 64% is ALA (a-linolenic acid), also known as Omega 3, which is critical for our body to function at optimum levels. It cannot be synthesized by the human body but is vital for normal metabolism.

Growing & Processing -
Brazil Nuts:
Our Brazil Nuts are grown and wild harvested by an indigenous group from the Amazonian jungle around the Rio Madre de Dios region, bordering on Bolivia and Brazil in the south-eastern corner of Peru. Although our Brazil Nuts are grown wild in the forest, our sustainable harvesting method is certified organic, ensuring that the nuts are protected from contaminants and pollution.

Our Raw Cashews are grown in the unique volcanic soil and dry climate of Flores. These conditions creates cashews that are creamier and sweeter than conventional “raw” cashews. These conventional “raw” cashews tend to have a savoury taste, whereas Loving Earth’s Raw Cashews have a sweet flavour.

Loving Earth’s Almond activation process maintains the nutritional content within. The almonds are sprouted in order to release enzyme inhibitors, which make them much easier to digest. The nuts are then dehydrated at approximately 40 degrees to maintain the optimum nutrition.

Brazil Nuts:
Loving Earth’s Brazil Nuts are heat treated at a lower temperature in comparison to the conventional brazil nuts on the market. This process helps to preserve the nutrient content within the nut.

Our Raw Cashew are sundried and our growers in Biting, Indonesia use a unique traditional knife to hand-crack the cashew shell. This takes a lot longer because the shells aren’t brittle - they’re soft, so it’s a skilled, slow process. The end result is a really raw cashew with a deliciously sweet, creamy flavour.

This is different to the conventional “raw” cashew de-shelling methods whereby oil is used to steam, boil or fry the shell to make it easier to crack. They are called “raw” because they haven’t been roasted but the process degrades the cashew significantly and destroys the essential fatty acids and enzymes.
