    Hulled with their outer husk removed, jet black sesame seeds - higher in minerals than hulled paler versions.
     
    Rich nutty flavour and has a lovely stronger aroma than white sesame seeds. Delightfully delicious.

    Black Sesame Seeds - Highly nutritious type of sesame seed. Higher in magnesium and calcium. 

    A 1/4 cup serving of Black Sesame Seeds provides:
    - 126 mg of magnesium, or 32% of the Recommended Daily Value (DV), and
    - 351 mg of calcium (35% of the DV).
    That is more nutritious than a cup of milk.

    Sesame seeds are exceptionally rich in iron, magnesium, manganese, copper, and calcium (90 mg per tablespoon of unhulled seeds, 10 mg of hulled), and contain vitamin B1 (thiamine) and vitamin E (tocopherol).

    They contain lignans, including unique content of sesamin, which are phytoestrogens with antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. Among edible oils from six plants, sesame oil had the highest antioxidant content. Sesame seeds also contain phytosterols associated with reduced levels of blood cholesterol.


    Ingredients: Certified Organic raw hulled black sesame seeds. Hulled sesame seeds are raw as only a mechanical process is used to peel off the hull.
    May contain traces of other nuts and seeds.

    Certified Organic Sesame seeds have been grown in these 3 areas for thousands of years - Latin America, India and China Inner Mongolia. All countries crops go through rigorous testing to meet organic standards.

    No fumigation, chemicals, or pesticides are used in any organic products.

    Only raw unhulled sesame seeds are slightly heat treated to be allowed in Australia.

    Australia does allow raw hulled sesame seeds. We do offer     raw hulled sesame seeds.
    Hulled sesame seeds are raw as only a mechanical process is used to peel off the hull. Removing the hull thereby minimises any risk of germination.
     
    Australia does not produce organic sesame seeds.There are no organic sesame seeds grown in Australia.

    Taste difference:
    Compared to South American sesame seeds, China and India offers sweeter sesame seeds. All are very nutritious and depends on your palate and flavour preference for a particular dish.
