    Matcha Maiden’s mix-and-matcha is made entirely of pure green tea leaves stone ground into a delicate but densely nutritious vibrant green powder.
     
    Sourced from the lush green rolling hills of the Uji region in Kyoto Japan, mix-and-matcha is Japanese certified organic and packed so full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that one serve is the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of green tea!

    How to enjoy: One serve is 2g or about half a teaspoon.
    However, more can be used to create a stronger matcha flavour (if you’re as matcha-mad as we are) and a more vibrant colour green in the final product that you mix it with.
     
    Ingredients: Certified organic 100% pure stoneground green tea leaves (no stems or twigs as stems and twigs produce are browner colour matcha),

    IS THERE CAFFEINE IN MIX N MATCHA?
    Yes, matcha powder contains caffeine however much less than regular coffee. 1 gram of matcha contains about 25-30mg of caffeine while regular coffee contains about 80-100mg. Further, matcha powder also contains L-theanine which has a calming effect on the body and tempers the jittery effect that caffeine can otherwise cause. For that reason, we think matcha is much better caffeine source than regular coffee.
     
     

    Matcha balls:
    Nuts, seeds and coconut blended with matcha, fresh avocado, coconut oil and mint make a beautifully light, chewy bliss ball in a pretty shade of green.

    100g cashews
    100g ground almonds
    100g sunflower or pumpkin seeds
    100g desiccated coconut
    100g avocado, peeled and chopped
    100g dried apricots, chopped
    1 tbsp coconut oil
    2 tbsp rice malt syrup or honey
    1 tsp matcha green tea powder
    1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped

    Coating -
    2 tbsp desiccated coconut
    2 tsp chia seeds
    ½ tsp matcha

    1. Combine the cashews, almonds and sunflower seeds in a blender or food processor and whiz until fine. Add the coconut, avocado, dried apricots, coconut oil, rice malt syrup, matcha and fresh mint and whiz until smooth and the mixture starts to form into a ball.

    2. Lightly wet your palms and roll into small balls, around 20 to 22 grams each.

    3. To make the coating, mix the coconut, chia seeds and matcha. Roll each ball in the mixture until coated, and refrigerate for three or four hours until firm. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week, or longer in the freezer.
