Certified Organic Pasta:
L'Abruzzese has created some unique and tasty pasta from ancient wheat grains such as Spelt and Kamut...and it's certified organic, too!

Spelt: has a smooth, "nutty" flavour.

About SPELT and KAMUT…great for wheat and gluten sensitive folk - Why?
These are ancient, high protein grains and relatives of modern wheat. They have a great flavour and are easily digested and absorbed by the body. They are particularly enjoyed by many people requiring special diets, such as those who have a low wheat tolerance or wheat and gluten sensitivities or allergies.

These pastas are easily digested and have a great, nutty taste! Spelt and Kamut flour are versatile, used in baking breads, cakes and muffins and in pizza dough.

Kamut - more buttery  - try our fresh Kamut Sourdough Bread.
Spelt - more nutty - try our fresh Spelt Sourdough Bread.

Other health benefits of Spelt and Kamut:
* contain higher protein content than normal wheat. Kamut has up to 40% higher protein level than the national average for wheat

* contains higher percentage of lipids, essential amino acids, vitamins (B2, manganese, niacin, thiamin & copper in spelt) and minerals which produce more energy than carbohydrates. Kamut is described as a "high energy grain"

* lower GI and better for people with diabetes or those with fluctuating blood sugar levels (starch in spelt is metabilised more slowly than normal wheat)

* contain more fibre and less glutamic acid than normal wheat.

Available in these styles:
* Spaghetti
* Fettuccine
* Penne
* Twists
* Lasagna (Spelt only)
* Linguine (Spelt only)
* Spirals (Spelt only).
The pasta also cooks and holds well !

Something to note:
As organic flours have no chemicals or nasties added to them, the smell of the grains (and hence the pasta) may be a little different from "typical" wheat / pasta.

Rest assurred that all our pasta maintains quality and freshness!

Our Passion for a Quality Pasta: 'Al Bronzo'
Our passion is not just about “pasta” but the way it is made . Indeed, not all pastas are the same.

The difference between L'Abruzzese Pty Ltd ® pasta and other brands is its home-style look and taste. We use traditional methods in manufacturing to help retain the natural flavours and hence, taste. Creating 'Al Bronzo' pasta with rough, bronze-style textures to capture more flavour and sauce! We also hand-pack our pasta, ensuring its quality

Throughout our experience, we believe our reputation endures in the quality product we produce and the creator's passion for a unique flavour.

As a result, a perfect “marriage” exists between quality ingredients and creator know-how that values tradition.

Top Quality ingredients and slow-dried:
All our pastas use the finest Australian ingredients including farm-fresh eggs (in the egg varieties) and top quality wheats with no chemicals or preservatives, together with a slow-drying process, anywhere between 20 to 48 hours. The result is a myriad of pasta shapes that not only have a unique look and superb taste but also “hold” well in the cooking process.

Sourcing the best Australian ingredients has lead to a fostering of solid, long-term relationships with premium wheat suppliers and flour mill producers in both South Australia and nation wide.
